Repair: We repair many types of new and antique furniture. Redoweling, replacing broken parts, rewelding the base back on your chair, replacing clock hinges.
Restoration: The most non-evasive methods work the best for cleaning up a tired finish. We start with a cleaning product and then employ other chemicals as a last resort if that doesn’t move the dirt. We can also clean and treat for mold. We may then clear coat the piece over if you’d like.
Finish Touch Ups: We use pigment powders and a careful hand to custom match the colors and graining of your furniture’s finish.
Veneer Repair: Careful lifting, cutting and removal techniques allow us to repair sensitive veneer pieces. We will then find the closest match of veneer for your furniture project.
Brass Castings: We utilize our outside resources for custom brass castings.
Chair Re-gluing: The trick here is to realize that if one joint is loose, there are most likely other joints that have come loose as well. Sometimes this involves taking apart the entire chair. We would like this to be cost effective for your budget and chairs are a lot of work. Remember, chairs have to support a human being, large or small. Our minimum job here is $125.00.
Upholstery: We are proud to be able to support many local upholsterers and smaller businesses by offering this service through our shop. We offer exclusive designer fabrics at a higher quality than you can find in the retail shop. The difference is the durability and rubability.
Caning, Rush, Splint, Wicker: We are pleased to be able to provide work to many in home craftsman and offer this weaving service to our clients as well. Weaving is a time consuming craft that we offer at competitive prices.
Water Ring Removal: Sometimes we are able to retrieve a table top’s finish from those pesky water rings when they are in the white stage. We will make a recommendation to refinish or not based on the severity of the water ring.
Fabrication and Turnings: Replacement feet, arms, support brackets, etc.. can be made for you to match the specifications of your furniture. Many of these replacement pieces we make ourselves. Although, if time is a consideration we have other craftsman at our disposal.
Furniture Redesign: This is an exciting element of our business. We love to collaborate with you and transform a piece of furniture from a dated style to something more cutting edge. We have converted two twins into a king sized bed.
Hand Carving: We employ outside craftsman as well as our own employees in making replacement carvings or new carvings to adorn your furniture. Prices vary per job.
Embroidery/Needlepoint Restoration (NEW!): An extremely time consuming craft. All work done locally. We charge per project plus materials to create masterpieces in needlepoint. We can also clean and replace missing stitches from existing work.
Hand Painting: The owner, who has a degree in Art, does all of the hand painting and gold leafing. We consult with you to bring your furniture painting ideas to life. Whether it’s chickens and chicks, Koi fish or French flourish designs, we can create what you like on your furniture. Minimum Job $150.00.
